چکیده

The present study investigated the distribution of five types of fillers in Japanese-language lectures. It was found that the distribution pattern differed depending on the kind of fillers; e, eto and ma tended to appear more often at major syntactic boundaries such as sentenceand clauseboundaries than ano and sono. Sono never occurred at sentence boundaries. These findings suggest that the use of different kinds of fillers may reflect different processes in speech delivery.
